BrowserScan alternatives: browser fingerprint and bot check tools compared
BrowserScan is a free site that checks what a browser reveals: IP address, DNS leak, WebRTC, graphics, client hints and bot detection, with a fingerprint report on its home page. Pixelscan and iphey are the nearest alternatives. Our free test is different in kind: it shows the visitor ID and trust score a fraud-prevention server would assign.
At a glance
- BrowserScan: lists IP lookup, DNS leak, WebRTC, port scanner, speed test, graphics, WebGPU, client hints, user agent parsing, media devices, bot detection and an HTTP2, SSL and TLS test. Its blog categories include anti-detection browsers, proxies and affiliate marketing.
- Pixelscan: a multi-check tool for browser fingerprinting, proxy detection, IP analysis and DNS leaks.
- iphey: fingerprint, IP, VPN, bot, DNS leak and IP blacklist checks with an overall score; says it is powered by MixVisit.
- BrowserLeaks: separate detailed reports per technique.
- CreepJS: open-source research on tampering and privacy tools.
- AmIUnique and Cover Your Tracks: research projects measuring how rare a fingerprint is.
Where BrowserScan is stronger
BrowserScan covers more ground in one place than we do. Its bot detection page names the automation signs it looks for, including WebDriver, headless Chrome, Chrome DevTools Protocol use and altered navigator values. It also offers a port scanner, a TLS test and several utilities. Our test shows a single result for the browser you are using and does not offer a port scan or a TLS test.
Where the others differ
CreepJS publishes its code under the MIT licence and focuses on spotting lies in browser values. AmIUnique and Cover Your Tracks tell you how rare you are rather than how a site would treat you. BrowserLeaks keeps each technique on its own page.
What the FingerPrint Checker free tests show
We show what a server would assign and recognise, not a list of every individual check.
- Browser fingerprint test: the visitor ID a fraud-prevention server assigns your browser, whether it recognised the browser from an earlier visit (including in a private window), how closely your signals matched the stored device, and a trust score.
- WebRTC leak test: the addresses your browser reveals through WebRTC, set against the IP address websites see, so you can tell whether a VPN or proxy covers them.
- No sign-up. Developers who want the same ID inside their own product can create an account with free checks.
Which should you use?
For a wide list of quick checks, BrowserScan or Pixelscan. For depth on one technique, BrowserLeaks. For rarity, AmIUnique. For the view of a fraud-prevention server, ours.

Frequently asked questions
Does BrowserScan test for bots?
Yes. Its bot detection page lists checks for WebDriver, tools built on it such as Selenium and headless Chrome, Chrome DevTools Protocol use and an altered navigator object.
Which tool is best for checking a VPN?
Use an IP check together with a WebRTC leak test and a DNS leak test. BrowserScan and BrowserLeaks offer several of these; ours covers WebRTC.
Is this comparison complete?
No. It covers what we could confirm from each tool’s own public pages on the date above, and leaves out anything we could not check. Tools change; if something here is out of date or wrong, tell us through the contact form and we will correct it.
